Alan Beat and his family moved to a smallholding in 1987.  Being complete novices they had everything to learn, from renovating buildings, keeping livestock, growing their own food, constructing fencing and hedges amongst many other tasks.The author started to write about his experiences in a smallholding magazine, and it is these articles which have been brought together to form this book.  Ideal for novices and experienced smallholders.
